Can we use parachute to land safely on the moon's surface?

 Is the use of parachute to land on the moon's surface safely?Let's know it.

The answer is no.we can't land safely on the surface of the moon via the use of a parachute.As we know that there is negligible atmosphere in the Moon so the air resistance is negligible as well. When an astronaut jumps with the parachute opened,the surface area increases . But there is no air resistance so the acceleration of the astronaut doesn't decrease.Hence,the velocity of the astronaut remain unchanged . Rather the velocity becomes uncontrollable and the astronauts may strike with the moon's surface more forcibly leading to severe injuries.
